Winter activities
Lillehammer offers a wide range of adventures and activities summer and winter.
There are activities for both families and companies who wish for exciting challenges.
A wide range of activities – both with and without adrenaline rushes –
are available right outside the downtown area – all within an easy
30-minute drive.
Radisson
SAS Lillehammer Hotel is situated only 700 m from the main shopping
street of Lillehammer and 200 m from Maihaugen and the Olympic Park.
Lillehammer
itself is a charming town with a lively main street, fine museums and
good restaurants. The mountain wilderness is only a short distance away
at Nordseter and Sjusjøen.
Tobogganing
is one of Lillehammer’s most popular winter activities. The tobogganing
can be attached directly on a tow bar that pulls you on the toboggan to
the top of the hill. Everyone is equipped with a helmet and goggles,
and you control the speed yourself by applying the brakes on the
toboggan as needed. It takes only a few runs before you are racing at
full speed down course, laughing all the way.

Lillehammer Olympic Bobsleigh- and Luge Track
This is Northern Europe’s only artificially frozen bobsleigh and luge track.
Bobrafting
The rubber bobsleigh slides down the icy track like a giant bathtub. It
holds 5-6 persons in addition to an authorized pilot, and reaches
speeds up to 80-100 km/hr. Age limit: 10 and 11 years when accompanied
by an adult; 12 years when riding alone.
Four-man bobsled
For many this is the
ultimate experience. The bobsled seats three passengers in addition to
the authorized pilot, and achieves speeds up to 120km/hr and almost 5G.
Luge
Luge runs can be organized for groups
(min. 5 persons). A special luge has been made for tourists and can
reach speeds up to 70 km/hr.
Skeleton
Skeleton is a type of sledge
where you lie on your stomach head first, and can reach speeds up to 70
km/hr with your nose about 1cm from the surface of the ice. This ride
is guaranteed to give you an adrenalin rush!
